STS, have successfully
completed the longest CCTV
survey in the world utilising
specific technology that was
developed by us. The inspection
of the 10 km, 24” drinking water
main from Jebel Dhana to Sir
Baniyas Island represented a
world record. Our professional
services resulted in the local
authorities issuing a second
contract where we surveyed the
existing 20” line running
parallel to the new one. Both
projects were completed well
within the specified time and
within the projects budget. |

CCTV Inspection |
| |
|
STS has completed a number
of projects in pipeline
inspection using state of the
art CCTV equipment. Pipes and
pipelines from 2” up to 90”
diameter can be surveyed by
umbilical cord covering
distances up to 10,000 meters.
High resolution digital camera
units provide clear insight to
the condition of the surveyed
area. The remote controlled
units are used in water, sewage,
sea-water intakes, and other non
man-entry areas. |

Step Test Program |

Step Test measurements are
performed in an entire sector,
the results are evaluated and
reported to be used for detailed
leak detection survey.

Leak Detection Survey |
| |
|
Thorough investigation in
pressure pipelines is carried
out using leak noise correlation
technique. The leak noise
correlation unit consists of two
transducers which are attached
at two different points directly
on the pipeline or on auxiliary
fittings. The transducers pick
up existing noise, transform it
to electrical signals and
transfer the noise via
transmitter to the main unit. |

Open Channel Flow Measurement |
| |
|
Special sensors are hooked up to
data loggers to measure flow and
velocity. This information is
used for hydraulic modeling and
sewer network design
considerations. Information is
recorded in data logger and
transferred to user PC’s. Read
outs can also be regularly
transmitted via SMS (using
special equipment). |

Manhole Location |

Buried manholes will be
identified and surveyed.
During the manhole
survey, data which has
been collected such as
coordinates and
estimated actual depth
of the manhole can be
overlaid onto drawing.
The inspection results
will be recorded on a
standard form.
The electronic depth
measurement shall be
based on the actual
condition of site, e.g
concrete, asphalt or any
kind of construction
material which has been
paved over. The manhole
cover will be the
reference point for the
depth measurement. |

Pipeline maintenance |

Specialized pigging for oil and
gas pipeline using high
performance pigs, pressure
by-pass arrangements and other
adapters.
Waterlines are either cleaned by
using high pressure jetting,
foam pigs or mechanical
scrapers. These methods improve
the hydraulic performance and
water quality as widely accepted
in the water industry and by
authorities. |
